MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — Imagine having a 1,000-foot driveway that you have to snowplow and you have to maintain.

Sounds like a lot of work, right? Well, that is the situation a Maple Grove family has found themselves in.

“I’m just frustrated and sad about the whole situation,” homeowner Dawn Cooper said.

The situation started in 2022 when Cooper says they experienced a sudden death in the family. Cooper and her sister-in-law purchased the home because the home had been in the family for more than 60 years, and they wanted to keep it in the family.

“We purchased the house to save it,” Cooper explained.

A few months after she purchased the home, Cooper noticed construction work was happening in the field right next door.
