LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Metro United Way, along with multiple community partners, is stepping up to help families who receive SNAP benefits.

On Friday, they announced the launch of the Harship to Hope Food Relief Fund. This will provide digital Kroger gift cards directly to SNAP recipients.

How it works

Beginning Monday, Nov. 3, if you are a resident of Jefferson County and have at least one child under 18 in the home or an older individual, you can apply for a digital gift card online through Metro United Way. People will need to upload proof of SNAP eligibility.

Once verified and approved, Metro United Way will pay Kroger gift cards of varying amounts directly to SNAP recipients.
