SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) —
Syracuse dropped its fifth straight game on Friday night, falling to North Carolina 27-10 at the JMA Wireless Dome.
As Fran Brown pointed on our "Orange Nation" radio show on Wednesday, Rickie Collins had a full month of running the program and SU's record during that stretch was 0-4. In other words, his time is up. The time has come for someone else to get a shot and that someone else is freshman walk-on Joe Filardi.
Filardi got the start against North Carolina and threw eight straight incompletions before completing his one pass of the first half on a 25-yard flea flicker to Darius Johnson. Filardi went 1-for-11 passing in the first half. Yet, Syracuse took a 10-6 lead into halftime.
The big play of the first half was turned in by the 'Cuse defense. Anwar S
