GREENVILLE, S.C. —
DoorDash is pledging to initiate an emergency food response across the nation as more than 40 million Americans brace for the potential impact of suspended SNAP benefits on Nov. 1.
A DoorDash spokesperson told WYFF News 4 SNAP is a large portion of how their app is used, with 2.4 million people in the U.S. using SNAP EBT cards as a payment method for food, groceries and essentials.
More than 42,000 people in Greenville County are currently receiving SNAP benefits.
Food partners and families are scrambling to find help as the federal assistance program, which provides monthly payments to support adults, children, working families and seniors, prepares to halt in the month of November.
