HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The U.S. Space and Rocket Center is asking guests for a little help with a food drive to help out the Food Bank of North Alabama.

The museum announced Friday that beginning on Nov. 3 and running through Nov. 30, visitors can get a $5 discount on general admission tickets if they bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the drive.

USSRC said the discount can only be used at the time of the donation, and all the collected items will go to the Food Bank of North Alabama to support furloughed workers and others in need.

Requested items include: • Peanut butter • Breakfast cereal • Rice • Pasta • Beans • Canned meats (tuna, chicken, etc.) • Canned soups and sauces • Canned fruits and vegetables (pop-top cans preferred) • Baby food and formula
