PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Peoria Police are looking for the suspect in a beating that sent a man speeding to a local hospital after he was allegedly hit in the face with a firearm several times.
According to police, at about 3:46 a.m. Friday, a ShotSpotter alert of eight rounds fired in the 800 block of West Hurlbert Street sent officers in that direction.
While they were headed to the scene, police said they spotted a vehicle speeding to a local hospital. Officers followed the vehicle and found a 23-year-old man with a head injury.
Police said the man had been hit in the head with a firearm multiple times, though his injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.
