DENTON, Texas — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning in South Denton.
Just before 5 a.m., officers responded to a shooting on the 4600 block of Merlot Drive, where they found a man bleeding on the sidewalk outside a home.
Denton police said the victim died at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once the next of kin have been notified.
A woman who lives at the house has been identified as the shooter and is cooperating with investigators, Denton PD said in a news release. Detectives say the incident appears to be isolated, involving only two individuals who knew each other, and there is no active threat to the community.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
