The Environment Protection Authority has rejected waste giant Cleanaway’s bid to supersize capacity at its Ravenhall landfill, which receives more than 2.5 million tonnes of rubbish each year and has contracts with 21 of 26 Melbourne councils, dwarfing any other landfill in Victoria.
