American actor and writer Julia Fox has defended dressing as Jackie Kennedy Onassis in the moments after the assassination of her husband and US President John F. Kennedy .
The 35-year-old was met with waves of criticism online for modelling her version of the pink Chanel suit Onassis wore in Dallas, Texas, which was stained in blood as she cradled Kennedy’s head after he was shot and killed on November 22, 1963.
Onassis continued to wear the suit in the hours after the assassination as Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as US President, saying she wanted “them to see what they’ve done”.
Social media users slammed the actor’s decision as “absolutely shameful”, with Onassis’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, airing his grievances.
