CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Cumberland County is facing a lawsuit connected to the now defunct Crown Event Center .
The center was supposed to be built on an empty lot on Gillespie Street , but back in June commissioners voted to scrap the construction project.
Now the architectural firm that designed the project is suing the county.
In the suit, EwingCole claims the county owes the company 2.3 million dollars in unpaid bills .
ABC11 reached out to Cumberland County for comment about this lawsuit and Communications Director Diane Rice sent this:
