(KRON) -- The Fremont Police Department said detectives fired a "less-lethal" projectile at a suspect's car after its driver rammed into detectives' vehicles multiple times at a car wash.

FPD said its Investigations Unit located a vehicle on Oct. 22 that was suspected in "several commercial burglaries of businesses and temples in Fremont and other Bay Area cities."

Fremont police said the vehicle had a stolen license plate when it was discovered in the undisclosed neighboring city.

When the car was stopped at a car wash, police said the female driver hopped back into the car when detectives tried to detain her.
