HADDONFIELD — Moments after his 12-yard dash to the end zone sent Haddonfield to a thrilling 20-14 double-overtime win over Willingboro, Brody Leonard made one more meaningful run.
"After I scored, I ran right over to my two older brothers (Johnny and Jay Foley), who I watched win two state championships on this field," Leonard said of the 2017 and 2018 squads. "To be able to get the chance to do that, there's nothing I want more."
Leonard and the top-seeded Haddons are headed to the NJSIAA Group 2 semifinals next week. They will be home once again, to take on the winner of Saturday's tilt between No. 5 Gloucester and 4-seed Lower Cape May.
A fine season for No. 8 Willingboro (4-6) came to a close.
