PROSPER – The Prosper Walnut Grove football team beat visiting Melissa 38-35 in a thrilling matchup of 4-5A Division II unbeatens at Children’s Health Stadium on Friday night – earning back-to-back district titles as a result.

Senior running back Cam Newton rushed for 175 yards and four touchdowns, none more important than his last score from a yard out on third-and-goal to give the Wildcats a two-score advantage at 38-28 with 2:33 remaining in the fourth quarter.
