CALDWELL, Texas (KBTX) - The Sealy Tigers picked up a dominant 72-12 win over the Caldwell Hornets on Friday. That result, paired with La Grange’s win over Giddings, ended Caldwell’s playoff chances.
Why did Sealy win? The Tigers consistently controlled the line of scrimmage, having their way with the Hornets on offense. While Caldwell was able to move the ball at times, self-inflicted mistakes (most notably, fumbles) hampered the team’s effort.
Standout performance: Sealy’s Javien Grant was a versatile playmaker for the Tigers. He recovered a fumble and scored a rushing touchdown during their first half onslaught.
What’s next? Caldwell (3-5-1) closes out the season next Friday at Bellville.
