Arne Slot has dismissed suggestions he is offering up “excuses” for Liverpool’s poor form, insisting he could never defend a run of six defeats in seven games.
But the Dutchman remains firm in his belief that he has faced numerous challenges during a woeful recent run that has left the Reds seven points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and out of the Carabao Cup.
Asked why things have gone wrong so far this season, Slot said: “You don’t really help me. So [the questions are], why, why, why? And I give an explanation and people say I’m coming up with excuses.
“So, maybe if you just look at all the press conferences I have given, I can come up with five or six reasons why we are maybe not winning as much or losing as much as we do.
