Senior running back Savion McCoy rushed for 235 yards on 14 carries and scored five touchdowns as the Columbia River Rapids routed the Hudson’s Bay Eagles 48-8 on Halloween night at John O’Rourke Field at Columbia River High School.
With the win, the Rapids (6-2 overall, 5-2 in league play) clinched a playoff berth and will learn Sunday who they will be facing in Week 10.
Columbia River scored touchdowns on each of its first five possessions as McCoy rushed for 211 yards in the first half. For the game, the Rapids ran for 284 yards, 245 in the first half. Senior running back Joey Ianella scored two touchdowns of his own, both in the second half. He tallied a three-yard rushing touchdown and finished off the scoring for Columbia River with a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown.
