EXETER — In Lauren Avery Hutton’s studio on Center Street, two paintings, framed to catch a visitor’s eye, vibrantly clash against the exposed brick wall.
Inspired by the beach, the canvases feature bright magenta-colored garnet sand — a textural style that Hutton, an experienced and successful artist, has been experimenting with. They are not for sale, partly because she cannot yet imagine parting with them.
Hutton is celebrating the grand opening of her gallery, Avery Art , during this year’s Fall Art Tour , which will feature 15 stops along a three-mile stretch. Growing up with a love of travel and culture, her life’s experiences have brought her around the world, with a tangible impact on her paintings, she said.
