Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow over the stampede at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kasibugga area of Srikakulam district, that claimed ten lives and left several others injured on Saturday.
The Chief Minister said that the temple belonged to an individual and authorities were not informed about the event.
Speaking at an event in Sri Sathya Sai district, he explained that the incident occurred at the privately built Venkateswara temple in Kashi Bugga, where a massive crowd had gathered for Kartika Ekadashi.
He said, "It is extremely painful that innocent people lost their lives in the stampede. I pay my respects to the deceased. A private individual constructed the Venkateswara temple at Kashi Bugga, and, due to Kartika Ekadashi, a large number of devotees gather
