Sydney, Nov 1: Team India batter Shreyas Iyer has been discharged from a Sydney hospital after receiving treatment for a spleen injury sustained during India’s third ODI victory over Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) last Saturday.

Officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Iyer is “stable and recovering well” after undergoing a minor medical procedure to stop internal bleeding caused by a lacerated spleen. The injury occurred when the 30-year-old fell awkwardly while taking a running catch to dismiss Alex Carey.
