Erin Kline and Frederick County’s 4-H helps kids find their spark

When the charity representative pulled up to the 4-H club meeting to collect donations for Blessings in a Backpack, an unexpected challenge awaited her. Of the 27 Frederick County 4-H Clubs, this particularly one was small in number. Surely the donations from such a small group would fit into her compact car with no trouble. Before long, however, a happy game of charitable Tetris was underway in her car, to make space for the sheer abundance of the donations.

“It literally filled her car up to the brim. She barely had enough room to sit in the driver's seat, because it was so full of donations,” Erin Kline recalled.
