One of the two archery hunters who participated in the recent first-ever accessible deer hunt on the East Grand Forks side of the Greenway succeeded in filling their tag, a hunt organizer says.

According to Randy Sorensen, executive director of Options Resource Center for Independent Living in East Grand Forks, a veteran from Fosston and a hunter from Frazee, Minnesota, participated in the Oct. 9-12 hunt.

“The Frazee hunter bagged a doe the first day, with the hunter from Fosston seeing deer,” Sorensen said. “But they were not as cooperative, since none moved within range.”

Options offered the archery hunt, which was open to four hunters with disabilities, through an agreement with the East Grand Forks Parks and Recreation Department. While four licenses were available, the two hunters
