Imagine one year ago. You are walking down the street when unmarked SUVs screech to a halt. Masked men pour out. They attack and beat people who are at work, church, school or leaving court rooms. Some are taken from their cars through broken windows as their children watch from the back seat. Those taken will find themselves in a detention camp or deported to prisons in Central America or Africa, most often without due process. No further need for imagination as we know this is happening across the country. With a related lockdown in Park River and an ICE raid in Grand Forks, it has reached North Dakota, as well.
