WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A 15-year-old boy is dead after being shot Saturday morning, according to the Williamsport Bureau of Police.

While investigating a report of a shooting nearby, police say they received a report of a shooting victim in the road. Arriving at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Park Place quickly, they found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot to the abdomen.

He was transported to the hospital, just blocks from the scene, where he later died of his injuries.

A homicide investigation is underway, and police are asking for information. Police say call 570-327-7586 or submit a tip on their Crimewatch .
