New Delhi: ISRO has rolled out its mightiest rocket to the second launchpad at India’s Sriharikota spaceport. This is the fifth operational flight for the Launch Vehicle Mark 3 (LVM3), previously known as the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III (GSLV Mk III), and is designated as the LVM3-M5 mission. The payload on board is the communication satellite CMS-03, weighing about 4,400 kg. This will be the heaviest communications satellite launched to a geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO) from Indian soil. This is also the first flight of the LVM3 rocket since the Chandrayaan 3 flight on 14 July, 2023.
