A devastating knife attack on a train bound for London last night resulted in ten people being taken to hospital, with nine sustaining life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred on Saturday, 1 November, aboard the 18.25 service travelling from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, to London King's Cross. At 7.39pm, police received reports that "multiple people had been stabbed on a train", prompting armed officers, paramedics, air ambulances and transport police to descend on Huntingdon station, where the train made an emergency stop.
Although the train halted at Huntingdon, several passengers reported the attack began shortly after departing Peterborough station in Cambridgeshire, approximately 50 minutes from London.
