WOODSTOCK – Sprayberry trailed Woodstock for all of 2:13 thanks to an opening kickoff return for a touchdown.
Then the Yellow Jackets started their onslaught and never let up.
When it ended, the result was a Sprayberry 62-14 victory over Woodstock in a Region 6AAAAA game. Sprayberry ends the regular season with a 9-1 record, 6-1 in the region. The Yellow Jackets will be the No. 2 seed in the playoffs and will host Lee County on Nov. 14.
Woodstock will be the No. 4 seed and travel to Thomas County Central.
“I’ve said this before, you want to be playing the best football in October,” Sprayberry coach Pete Fominaya said. “I think over the last two weeks we’ve gotten better and closed some gaps. We’ve still got some things we need to clean up but we feel confident where we are at.”
