The King wants Commoner Andrew Mounbatten Windsor to lose his last honorary military rank.
The Minister of Defence John Healey has confirmed they are working to remove the title as King Charles had ‘indicated that’s what he wishes’.
Despite being stripped of his title as Prince on Thursday, Mr Mountbatten Windsor kept his rank as a Vice Admiral in the Royal Navy.
He gave up all of his other military positions in 2022.
