Mobile crisis response teams in Brantford and Six Nations are getting a boost in provincial funding.
Six Nations Police Service will receive $240,000 over two years while Brantford Police Service will get $207,655 over two years.

“This funding strengthens our capacity to deliver timely and compassionate responses to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis,” Brantford Police Chief Jason Saunders said in a prepared statement. “ “Through continued collaboration with our community partners, we remain committed to ensuring that those in crisis receive appropriate care and support.”
The funding will enable police to work with trained crisis workers to provide the specialized support needed when dealing with people experiencing a mental health crisis.
