The City of Columbia welcomed Cuban Corner to the Main Street District with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 31 that was attended by Mayor Daniel Rickenmann, Main Street District President and CEO Matt Kennell, and City of Columbia Economic Development representatives.

Owned by Yaema Galguera, who started the business with her husband, two daughters and grandmother after coming to the United States seeking political asylum, Cuban Corner began operating from a tent at Soda City Market two years ago.

“ Cuban Corner is more than a restaurant; it’s a story of family, hard work, and community. We are proud to represent the Latin community and to contribute to the growth of this great city that has embraced us like family,” said the owners.
