SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Downtown Springfield saw some large crowds on Halloween night, with local businesses reporting record-breaking customer volumes.

Brooke Thomas, general manager at Harbell’s , a sports bar in downtown Springfield, said the Halloween celebration was exceptional compared to previous years.

“This is one of the craziest years I’ve seen,” said Thomas. “We always stock up, make sure that we’re set for the night. Of course, we were prepared, but we didn’t expect it to be that busy.”

Springfield Police maintained their normal patrol car deployment for the holiday. Officers spent the week advising residents who planned to go out to arrange safe transportation home in advance.
