MOBILE, Ala (WKRG) - The South Alabama Jaguars looked to win a second consecutive on Saturday as they hosted the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns.
The Ragin’ Cajuns took a 10-0 lead over the Jags through the first quarter.
South Alabama got the board for the first time with 9:32 left in the second quarter thanks to a 15-yard touchdown run from running back Keenan Phillips. Louisiana would score on the following long drive.
The Jags attempted to drive the ball to run out the clock for halftime, but the Ragin’ Cajuns defense forced a three-and-out followed by a South Alabama punt.
The Ragin’ Cajuns only needed six plays on a 64-yard drive to extend their lead 24 -7 right before halftime.
