MARTINSBURG — Martinsburg South Middle School’s Band won second place in the Alsatia Mummer’s Parade as students are preparing to attend the West Virginia Wesleyan College Honor Band. The Alsatia Mummer’s Parade took place on Oct. 25 in Hagerstown, Maryland to celebrate Halloween.

Two of the students that participated in the parade were seventh graders Blair Seal and Knoxley Heffner who play saxophone and percussion respectively. Neither of them expected to get second place and were excited they did well. One of the biggest challenges they had was learning how to march in step and stay together as a group.
