PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A homicide investigation is underway after police say a person was found dead in a downtown Portland parking lot early Sunday morning.

At around 4:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of someone down on the ground in a parking lot in the 300 block of Southwest 3rd Avenue.

Officials say they found a male victim there, and he was declared dead when paramedics arrived.

Police said evidence from the scene suggested he was shot. But the cause and manner of death have yet to be determined by the medical examiner.

Any possible suspect or suspects left the scene before police arrived.

No arrests have been made at this time, police said.
