CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - With SNAP benefits at a standstill, families across Northeast Ohio are looking for ways to feed their families.
Shawana Hanson is a regular at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. She volunteers every week.
“I really wanted to give back to a cause greater than myself,” said Hanson
The Food Bank needs her help more than ever.
She and other volunteers pack at least 2,000 boxes of food to give out to those now without SNAP benefits.
“What we are going through right now truly makes no sense to me. I want to do everything I can to help,” said Hanson.
The timing couldn’t be worse, as the Food Bank plans to distribute 6 million pounds of food this month alone
