LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Protesters gathered in Lansing on Sunday for the "ICE out of Home Depot" rally. • (WLNS) • (WLNS)
According to Disappeared in America, the rally seeks to "honor immigrant workers who have been detained by ICE on Home Depot properties."
The rally was scheduled to last from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Home Depot located at 936 South Waverly Road.
"Even during the government shutdown, ICE operations continue. While essential services are being slashed, ICE agents remain on the job, paid to detain and deport our neighbors," event organizers said in a news release sent to 6 News.
Organizers encouraged attendees to bring non-perishable food items for those affected by the SNAP interruption due to the ongoing government shutdown.
