COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman is dead after a shooting in northeast Columbus early Sunday morning, according to police.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to a home in the 1100 block of Wildwood Avenue, near Brentnell Avenue, around 3:30 a.m. on a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Shakeilah White suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police said she was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting. Police said a man was detained at the scene and charged with tampering with evidence and weapons-related charges.
