SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — Police are investigating a shooting that left nine people injured early Sunday morning at an Airbnb rental home in Bath Township.
Bath Township Police Chief Vito Sinopoli said officers were dispatched around 12:16 a.m. to reports of gunfire at a residence in the 900 block of Top of the Hill Drive.
The home had been rented as a short-term Airbnb property and was hosting a large birthday party that had been advertised on multiple social media platforms, drawing a significant crowd.
“Upon arrival, our officers were met with a chaotic scene and administered life-saving aid to the injured,” Sinopoli said during a Sunday morning press conference.
Investigators said an unknown suspect or suspects opened fire on the first floor of the home before fleeing the scene.
