SLIDELL, La. —
Two people were arrested after shoplifting from a Dillard's in Slidell before fleeing from police.
Kelsey Baird, 34, of Navarre, Florida, and Eric Boudreaux, 43, of Biloxi, Mississippi, were arrested. Advertisement
According to Slidell police, they were notified of a shoplifting in progress. When the shoplifter, identified as Baird, spotted the officer, she discarded the items that she was attempting to steal and tried to leave the store.
An officer attempted to stop Baird, who fled on foot into the parking lot.
Baird's friend, identified as Boudreaux, was waiting in the parking lot and began honking his horn to indicate where he was parked.
Baird was able to get into the passenger side of the car, and she left the scene with Boudreaux.
