WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Just weeks ago, Brittany Raley was serving Central Texas as an EMT. Now, she’s asking the community for help as she learns to walk again after a severe accident almost took her life.

It started as a normal afternoon riding side-by-sides - and ended with a lengthy list of injuries: 27 broken bones, a brain bleed, torn diaphragm, and collapsed lung.

“Each time a doctor would come in, my injury count grew,” Raley said.

For the last 20 years, she has been on the other side of the hospital bed, delivering patients as a paramedic and EMT.
