For 15 years, New Haven has been celebrating Dia De Los Muertos in the city with a parade and party.
“The support of the community, coming here and seeing everyone joining together with unity I think is beautiful,” said Eva Perez who was there to spectate.

The celebration snaked through the Fair Haven section of the Elm City.
“To symbolize loved ones have passed but they are still here with us and we are embracing that by enjoying the future of life,” she explained of the culturally specific elements.
The streets were full of giant puppets, and lanterns adorned with flowers. The parade was full of color and music filled the streets as the parade went by. The energy was hard to miss as families peeked out of window
