Southampton have confirmed the departure of manager Will Still.

Still was only appointed in May but has been relieved of his duties following a poor start to the season.

Saints are just one place above the Championship's relegation zone having one just twice in their opening 13 league matches.

A 2-0 defeat at home to Preston North End on Saturday has proved to be Still's final match in charge of the club.

Men’s Under-21s head coach Tonda Eckert is interim boss while the club searches for a Still successor.

Saints are next in action on Wednesday night with a trip to face Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
