HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — One person was taken into custody after a shooting in the Phipps Bend Industrial Park area on Saturday evening, according to the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office (HCSO).

The sheriff's office said it is investigating the shooting that occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. "on a roadway in the Phipps Bens Industrial Park area."

One person was taken into custody. The name of the individual was not provided.

The HCSO stated that this incident is believed to be domestic in nature and does not involve any industry located in the park. There is no threat to public safety.

The victim was transported for treatment, the sheriff's office said.
