OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — A person is dead after three cars hit them Saturday evening in Okanogan County, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
WSP says the person was in the northbound lane of SR-97 for an "unknown reason."
Deputies say one car was going northbound at Milepost 265 when they attempted to avoid hitting the person, but ended up hitting them. The vehicle then stopped at the right shoulder.
WSP then says that the person "came to a rest" in the northbound lane, then a second car coming from the same direction hit the person and continued going northbound.
Deputies also say a third car coming from the same direction hit the person, and continued going northbound, then was later located by law enforcement.
WSP says drugs and alcohol were involved in this accident. N
