ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WITN) - Police say a child was injured in a shooting last night in Elizabeth City.
Elizabeth City Police say at about 8:04 p.m. last night, they went to a call for shots being fired in the 200 Block of Ward Street.
They say when they got there, they saw a kid with a gunshot wound. Police say they performed live saving measures on the kid until EMS got there.
They went on to say the child was taken to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City before being taken to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia. Police added that the kid has non-life threatening injuries.
They say the investigation is active and ongoing. They encourage anyone with information to any of their anonymous channels.
