QUINCY (WGEM) - A Quincy man was arrested after police investigated a vehicle burglary reported by a resident.

On Monday, Quincy police responded to the 500 block of North 16th Street for a burglary of a motor vehicle.

Chief of Police Adam Yates said the victim reported that on Oct. 19th or the 20th, two men came onto his property and were checking vehicle doors.

One vehicle was unlocked, entered, and money was taken. According to Yates, the same people came back several nights later, engaging in similar behavior.

The instances were recorded on video surveillance cameras in the area.

Additional reports of vehicle burglaries were made by other people who live in the area.

Yates said officers were able to identify the suspect as Perry E. Echternkamp, 32, of Quincy.
