PALA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A young girl is safe and back home after suffering a medical emergency on Halloween night on the Pala Indian Reservation, authorities said Saturday.

According to the Valley Center Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 9:05 p.m. on Oct. 31 to reports of a juvenile experiencing a seizure. The child had been trick-or-treating earlier that evening, and her parents initially expressed concern about possible exposure to an unknown substance.

Deputies and paramedics arrived at the scene and quickly began providing aid. Officials say there were no signs of drug involvement, and the incident appears to have stemmed from an undiagnosed medical condition.
