LE MARS, Iowa -- Le Mars Fire & Rescue says two firefighters were injured while fighting a house fire in southwest Le Mars Saturday afternoon.
The Le Mars Fire-Rescue Department says crews were called to the 3300 block of Sadona Hills South around 6:43 p.m. Saturday on reports of a house fire. Upon arrival, fire crews found the west side of the home engulfed in flames and smoke.
The Le Mars FD says crews began a defensive attack in the back of the residence as the fire was spreading to the roofline of the home and covered the back deck. Firefighters knocked down the flames and made entry into the home, but were forced back outside when the main floor flashed over.
