PORTLAND, Ore. — Two people were injured in an early-morning shooting in Portland's Pearl District on Sunday, and police are seeking information from possible witnesses who left the scene.

Portland Police Central Precinct officers responded to a report of shots fired at 2:32 a.m. near Northwest 9th Avenue and Northwest Couch Street. Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound to her leg and applied trauma first aid, including a tourniquet, before paramedics took her to a hospital.

While officers were securing the scene, they were told that a man had arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound, police said. Initial information indicated the man had also been injured near Northwest 9th Avenue and Northwest Couch Street.
