A nine-month-old baby has died after a dog attack at a home. ‌

Gwent Police said officers responded to an alert in Rogiet, Wales, at 6pm on Sunday. Officers went to the scene along with paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service. ‌

Eyewitnnesses said the huge emergency response included up to nine ambulances, dozens of police vehicles, and an armed response unit, reports the Mirror. ‌

Police said that the baby was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The dog has been seized and removed from the property

Gwent Police Chief Superintendent John Davies said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information to get in touch. ‌
