Weeks before Thanksgiving, Karen Lucarelli is making pies in her Spring Hill home, but she’s not baking them just yet.

Come Nov. 27, random strangers will pull the pies and entire Thanksgiving feasts — bought, assembled and delivered by strangers — out of their freezers to bake fresh for their families.

“With the November SNAP pause, my neighbors and I are feeling helpless because we want to help,” Ms. Lucarelli, 33, said. “I want to do something concrete, and I want to do something that I can do with my kids.”

So, Ms. Lucarelli did do something concrete. When the grocer Aldi posted an ingredient list for a $40 “Feast for 10” Thanksgiving dinner, Ms. Lucarelli figured that — tacking on some pumpkin pie — she could pack up these feasts for her neighbors with $50 each. She began knocking
